Grand Theft Auto: IV - Trailer Released

For those grand theft auto fans, Rockstar games released their initial GTA IV trailer.

The trailer demonstrates the game engine (or so we think) from the graphic perspective. Imagine graphics that make Saints Row look as if it were drawn in crayons!

The entire environment is like a virtual image of New York City (or "Liberty City" in the world of GTA). The filters on the environment seem to closely resemble those of CSI:NY - a darker tone with rich blues and an overall "cold" look to them.

The trailer really doesn't show any game play, functionality or anything to give you an idea of what you'll be able to do. However, the GTA franchise is pretty standardized: drive around, do missions, kill lots of people. We don't expect this to change.

Rockstar is currently saying October 16th, 2007 as the release date for this title, so it has a lot of baking to do still. If the trailer is truly a real-time display of their graphic engine this game might be a hot seller to the GTA community.

If you're not a grand theft auto fan improved graphics probably won't make you run out and buy it anyway.
