Rock Band: Next Guitar-Hero Type Game

Harmonix developed the original Guitar Hero games and now has taken its experience to a new level: Rock Band.

This game, due out for Christmas is being targeted on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 consoles.

What is Rock Band? It is a mixture of rhythm-action disciplines and karaoke on the home console.

"There will be four instrument-based controllers (lead and bass guitars, a drum kit and a microphone), and online support will include the ability to form bands with people in other countries."

This game is great for publishers because it has a bottomless pit of marketing content. For instance, downloadable content for new songs! Alex Rigopulos told USA Today, "We'll be covering a great breadth, from metal to classic rock to Southern rock to everything in between"

Excited? Should be interesting and if it's half as good as Guitar Hero 2 it will be worth a look.
