Gaming Wikia!

Jimmy Wales, founder of Wikipedia has started a new open source gaming magazine!

This wikia (a wikia is an 'open-sourced' magazine) is dedicated to gaming of all makes and models. They cover PC, PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii.

For mobile gaming, they've got GBA, DS and PSP. Pretty neat concept. Why do we find it of interest?

Gaming Magazines are falling out of date before they go to print. News moves quickly and we consume it as fast as possible. "Once upon a time" we had only one great medium for news: magazines.

You wanted to know about the Super NES? You had to dig through news magazines, Nintendo Power and other physical forms of news to find it. Now, we just hit an RSS feed and get all the data we need on demand.

This gaming magazine is, by nature, digital and constantly updating. It's "open source" which means anyone can contribute to it, work on it and advance its future. Similar to wikipedia, it could end up being a go-to place for all things gaming.
